This page is blank right now. However, the ancient and current history of Zimbabwe is anything but. Formerly known as Rhodesia in Sub-Saharan Africa as part of the British Empire, Zimbabwe in the southern portion of Rhodesia and Zambia in the northern, came into being only in recent times. The statistics of the country are appalling. Under the 26 year dictatorship of Robert Mugabe and his cronies that began in 1980, Zimbabwe has descended into a regime of corruption, fear and torture. Utter poverty and disease are rampant. With 800-1000% inflation, starvation is an everyday reality. Food is used as a political weapon. The average life expectancy of a woman in Zimbabwe is 34, the lowest in the world. Coming soon, the full picture of Zimbabwe, past and present, will no longer be a blank page, at least not in this chronicle.
